JASON EVANS' AWARDS BALLOT

The best of the best in film from 2020

As a voting member of the Atlanta Film Critics Circle and the Southeastern Film Critics Association, I get to vote on our annual awards. It is worth noting that different groups have different criteria for what does and does not qualify for awards consideration. For the Atlanta Film Critics Circle, we could only consider films that got some kind of release or at least showed at a festival in calendar 2020. This means that films like The US vs. Billie Holiday and Judas and the Black Messiah were not eligible for awards consideration.

But, among films we were allowed to consider, there were some true standouts and I wanted to let all of you know which ones I considered the best. So, here is my ballot for the Atlanta Film Critics Circle. I will come back here and post my ballot for SEFCA when I see all the criteria for that group.
