Hollywood essentially shuts down during December, and this weekend's slate of releases demonstrates that. Studios threw everything they had into theaters over Christmas, meaning there's nothing left over for the waning days of 2010.

So if you're headed to the theater this weekend, I suggest going for quality over cinematic junk food. Skip Little Fockers, Gulliver's Travels and Yogi Bear. Instead, give films like True Grit, The Fighter or Tangled a shot. If you don't mind driving a little bit, there's always the excellent The King's Speech.
