JASON EVANS' 100 WORD REVIEWS: Ford v Ferrari

You know the drill by now. Film Critic Jason Evans has made it his mission to provide everything you need to know about a movie in exactly 100 words. So, here is his 100 Word Review of Ford v. Ferrari.

The Premise: Racecar designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) is approached by the Ford Motor Company and its young marketing executive Lee Iacocca (John Bernthal of The Walking Dead & Baby Driver) to build a car that can best the seemingly unbeatable Ferrari racing team at the prestigious 24-hours of Le Mans. Shelby knows the driver he needs is fiery but brilliant Ken Miles (Christian Bale), but can he convince buttoned up Ford to let the unpredictable Miles take the wheel when the whole world is watching?

The 100 Words: Brilliant acting and filmmaking mastery come together in this crowd-pleasing slice of automotive history. The race scenes are unmatched on film, as realistic and white-knuckled as any I have ever seen. The sound, lighting, and editing are all award caliber. But, it is the emotive performances of Damon and Bale that really make this pic soar. Both humorous and genuine, the two stars will command your attention. It probably didn’t need to be 2 ½ hours long, but I did not mind the time I spent watching this remarkable journey. A film we will be talking about throughout award season.
